On May 15, a police officer was patrolling northbound on Main Street in Exeter when the officer encountered a car that crossed the centerline and into the path of the officer. Fortunately, a crash was avoided, however, upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odour of alcohol coming from the driver. A roide-screening test was completed and the driver registered a fail. As a result, the driver was placed under arrest for impaired operation and was transported to the Exeter OPP detachment for breath tests.
The year-old Exeter man has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July On May 16, an officer observed a car being driven in an aggressive manner, thus prompting the officer to initiate a traffic stop. The car was stopped on King Street in Clinton and upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer detected the odour of alcohol.
Additionally, the officer saw an open can of beer in the console. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 6. Huron OPP arrested and charged a year-old Exeter man with several offences connected to a break, enter and theft that took place. On May 15 the victim reported to police someone entered into his Saunders Street home and stole a rifle along with ammunition. As it turned out, Huron OPP had received a call earlier in the day from a witness that reported seeing someone walking down Victoria Street West with a rifle and a box of ammunition.
At that point in time the suspect was spoken to however he denied any knowledge of the firearm. Following additional investigating, Huron OPP returned and spoke with the suspect. This time the suspect was arrested and a search was conducted.
The stolen rifle and ammunition were recovered. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled. Huron OPP remind firearm owners that it is their legal duty and responsibility to safely and securely store firearms and ammunition in their possession. Huron OPP laid criminal charges against a year-old North Huron resident following a domestic assault investigation. The investigation revealed a domestic assault had occurred, as well, it revealed the accused was operating his vehicle in a dangerous manner.
The accused has been charged with Assault and Dangerous Operation and has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for later this summer. The officer had knowledge the accused was prohibited from driving so a traffic stop was initiated.
Upon checking the licence status of the driver it was learned the accused was currently serving five criminal code-driving suspensions as well as a provincial suspension. Further investigation revealed the accused was operating the vehicle with licence plates not authorized for the vehicle and without insurance.
He has a court date schedule for Aug. Officers followed the vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted. While speaking with the driver, officers noted the driver to be displaying s that she was impaired by alcohol.
As a result the driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation. Two samples of her breath tests were analyzed to be over the legal limit. The accused has since ben released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for Aug.
Huron OPP stopped a pickup truck travelling southbound on Highway 21 and upon stopping the vehicle, officers recognized the driver and were aware the driver had a suspended. The year-old driver from Kincardine was placed under arrest for driving while under suspension. In addition, the investigating officer noted the driver was displaying s of impairment and a field sobriety test was conducted. The driver performed poorly and was arrested for Impaired Operation.
A search incident to arrest revealed the driver to be in possession of a quantity of suspected cocaine. Transported to the Sebringville OPP detachment for drug testing, the driver was deemed impaired by a drug.
Huron OPP arrested and charged a year-old man from Goderich with a variety of weapons and breach of probation offences. Officers arrived on scene and quickly located the suspect sitting on a landscape rock at the end of a laneway. Officers learned the male had been observed burying something near the rock. A check of the area was completed and an air pistol BB gun and a starter pistol were located. Upon doing some checks on the male it was learned the suspect was in violation of his probation order as well as a prohibition order.
